Matt Deegan and Matt Hill have spent their life in audio.
Matt Deegan has been responsible for radio stations, networks as well as making programmes for the BBC and ITV. He co-created the Love Island podcast for ITV, executive produced Worst Dates for BBC Sounds and devised and produced Nappy Days for MTV.
Matt Hill’s worked for the Guardian and Channel 4 on their audio projects before setting up a production company and helping to launch Changes with Annie Macmanus and Happy Place for Fearne Cotton.
Together they created the British Podcast Awards (as well as running the Australian and Irish Awards), before selling it to Haymarket in 2022.
After running the Awards they sat down and talked about what they had learned from talking to hundreds of podcast creators. The key problem everyone faced was getting their shows in front of new listeners.
So the two Matts started work on creating a new podcast agency, launching in April 2023 with two big clients – Crooked and Podimo.
At the same time they took their already popular weekly newsletter Great British Podcasts and re-invented that as a cross-media publisher – Podcast Rex. Podcast Rex reaches people through its website, its podcast Your Next Podcast, over 140,000 readers each week through its newsletters and millions of people each month through the social video output on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and X.
Through Podcast Discovery they devise cross-platforms campaigns to help drive listening to podcasts, whilst Podcast Rex provides editorial to all podcasters and features for its advertisers.
We’re here to help listeners find their next favourite podcast.
Whether that’s editorial on Podcast Rex or finding the perfect place to talk about our client’s shows, we’re here to keep everyone’s podcast app buzzing.
Our goal is to deliver amazing campaigns that get podcasts heard by the right audience at the right time.
